Installing the Management Node

Installation of the Management Node is a two-step process:

1. Deploying the VM template: this creates a new unconfigured instance of a generic Management Node VM.

   The process for deploying the template varies according to your hypervisor. Select the appropriate instructions from the list below.

2. Running the installation wizard: after deploying the Management Node template, the installation wizard allows you to configure the Management Node VM appropriately for your deployment.

Supported hypervisors

Two template files are available for download from the Pexip website for use when creating your Management Node VM. Select the appropriate template file for your hypervisor:

• an .ova file for VMware, KVM or Xen deployments, and other hypervisors except Hyper-V
• a .zip file for Microsoft Hyper‑V deployments

Select your hypervisor from the list below for instructions on how to create a new instance of a Pexip Infinity Management Node virtual machine:

• VMware
• Microsoft Hyper‑V
• KVM
• Xen

Other hypervisors

Pexip Infinity currently supports deployments using ESXi, Hyper‑V, KVM or Xen hypervisors only. If you wish to use any other type of hypervisor or orchestration layer, you can use the Pexip Infinity OVA file to create a generic instance of the Management Node and then configure it by Running the Pexip Infinity installation wizard. However, we recommend that you first contact your authorized Pexip representative for advice.
