Managing license renewals

The renewals of your customer's license plans are managed in two ways:

  • Always renew: Pexip will automatically renew and bill you for your customer's license plan, until you instruct otherwise.
  • Manually renew: Pexip will not automatically renew and bill you for your customer's license plan, unless you instruct us otherwise.

Pexip's renewal, reminder and expiry policy is that:

  • Monthly Prepay and Monthly Prepay with 12 Month Commit license plans are perpetual, which means that they automatically renew every month until canceled.
  • All other plans require manual renewal in the Partner Portal.
  • Renewal reminders are issued by email at 45, 30, 15 and 3 days before expiry.
  • Subscriptions are deactivated when a license plan expires (at 23:59:59 UTC on the expiry date), but can be easily reactivated for up to 30 days through the purchase of a new paid license plan.
  • If your customer no longer wants a service, you should set the license plan(s) to expire at the next renewal date. You can choose to discontinue (expire) a license plan at any time, but prepaid periods are not refunded.

Setting your customer's renewal preferences

The Renewal/Expiry column of the License Plan overview shows the current renewal settings on your customer's plans.

  • A date in red means the license plan is set to expire on the date shown.
  • A date in green means the license plan is set to renew on the date shown.

To edit your renewal preferences for a license plan, select the wrench icon inline with the plan you want to edit and then select Manage Renewal.

After confirming the renewal of a license plan that includes the One-Touch Join (OTJ) software license key, the License Management option is deactivated for this license plan, meaning there is no option to revert the renewal confirmation after the new software license key has been created. Expiry reminder emails

The portal sends reminders by email to the account manager at 45, 30, 15 and 3 days before expiry. These provide a direct link to the portal, allowing you to simply click-through to your customer and set your renewal preferences.

If you are not receiving these reminders, or you would like all renewal notifications to go to a fixed set of email addresses, please send an email to bizops@pexip.com. Note that reminders can only be set up on a partner-level, not for individual customer accounts.
