Creating trial subscriptions and evaluation mode
After creating a new company, you have the choice of either:
- creating trial subscriptions, valid for 30 days, and/or
- creating paid license plans.
A green alert box at the top of the screen indicates for how many days you are able to create trial subscriptions — this is known as Evaluation Mode and you can create new trials while Evaluation Mode remains open.
Your Pexip account manager can extend the date at which the evaluation period is due to end. The account manager can also re-open the Evaluation Mode if you have a specific customer opportunity with which you need assistance.
To create a trial subscription:
- Select one of the consumer tabs (Users, Team VMRs, Endpoints, Domains, Interop).
- Select the button top-right to continue (Invite User / Add Team VMR / Add Endpoint and so on — see Managing subscriptions (consumers) for more information).
A range of emails are sent during the trial period.
Closed evaluation mode
When the evaluation mode comes to an end, you can no longer create new trials and the green alert box is replaced by a blue alert box:
- Any subscriptions in trial mode are deactivated and can no longer be consumed by your customer. Please order a paid license plan to reactivate such subscriptions.
- Trial subscriptions deactivated due to expired evaluation mode are retained for another 30 days, and can be re-activated by either contacting the Pexip account manager to extend the evaluation mode or by ordering a paid license plan.
- When a trial subscription is moved to a paid license plan, any endpoint or domain trial plans are not automatically moved to consume licenses from the paid plan, and therefore they need to be manually updated.
- After 30 days, any deactivated subscriptions are deleted permanently.
