Pexip Service invoicing
This article explains how your activity in the Partner Portal correlates to the invoices you receive from Pexip.
Billing frequency and recipients
The Pexip Service runs a monthly billing cycle. As a Pexip partner you can typically expect to receive at least one invoice per month from us.
The Pexip invoice is sent to the email address(es) given by the partner as part of the onboarding process. When there are changes to these recipients, you must send an email to bizops@pexip.com requesting an update to the invoicing email recipients.
- Direct Partners get one invoice per month.
- Distributor Partners get one invoice per reseller partner, as set up in the Partner Portal.
Your monthly invoice is a consolidated billing of all the customers you have set up under your partner account (reseller account for distributors).
Your invoice is accompanied by a number of rich billing files to assist you with your internal approval processes and to turn around the invoice to your customer.
See Understanding the billing files for more information.
Payments
See this article (requires partner login) for information about how to pay an invoice issued by Pexip.
Invoice contents and license plans
Ordering, changing or canceling license plans affects the contents of your invoice.
Ordering a new license plan
When you order a brand new license plan for one of your customers:
Monthly Payment plans
You will see:
- a charge for the previous month (in which you ordered the license plan) if you chose a Start Date in that month. The amount is a full month or a pro-rata charge for the month, depending on which Start Date you selected. And...
- a charge for the current month. The amount is a full month or a pro-rata charge for the month, again depending on which Start Date you selected.
Subsequent monthly invoices will be for one month each, at the same amount each month, unless:
- there is a change to pricing
- there is a change to quantity.
Annual Payment plans
You will see a charge for the full year of the license plan that you ordered. There are no pro-rata charges.
You will not see any further charges until:
- the license plan is renewed
- there is a change to pricing
- there is a change to quantity.
Ordering more licenses for the same product
When you order more licenses for the same product:
- If a customer already has a license plan for a specific product, then new licenses for that same product are added to the existing license plan.
- The billing of the new license is pro-rated, and you will see these charges on your next monthly invoice.
Monthly Plans
On your next monthly invoice, you will see pro-rata items on your invoice:
- a pro-rata credit for the licenses you had already paid for before you added more licenses
- a pro-rata charge for the new total.
So, for example, you have already paid this month for 10 licenses @ USD50 each. Then in the middle of the month you add 5 more licenses @ USD50 each. You will see the following on your next monthly invoice:
- a credit for 10 x USD50 for 0.5 of the month
- a charge for 15 x USD50 for 0.5 of the month.
Annual Plans
The principle for annual plans is the same as for monthly plans, as explained above. The difference is that the pro-rata credit/charge covers the remainder of the year (until the expiry date of the license plan).
Reducing licenses for an existing customer
Sometimes you may want to reduce the number of licenses for a specific product plan for one of your customers. In this case:
- license reductions apply immediately
- no refunds are provided for licenses already paid for
- new pricing applies only upon renewal.
The next time your license plan is due to be invoiced (monthly or annually) the new license count is used, but we do not apply any credits.
Removing/canceling a license plan for a customer
Sometime you may need to completely stop a license plan for a customer. For example if they are upgrading to another product or if they no longer need a specific service.
This is managed under the renewal process. Providing you set a license plan to not renew, you will not be billed again after the expiry date.
See Managing license renewals for more information.
