Activating Yealink video endpoints

Before customers can start using their Yealink hardware video endpoint subscription for the Pexip Service, their device needs to be activated (sometimes referred to as provisioning). Here we explain how to do it.

Having already created an endpoint subscription, the partner needs to tie the device to its subscription in the Partner Portal. Someone with administrator access to the device can then complete the process.

Please note that Yealink video endpoints are not supported for use with the Activate Endpoint app.

Tying the Yealink device to the endpoint subscription

  1. In the Partner Portal find the endpoint subscription you want to use.
  2. Select the wrench icon next to the target endpoint subscription, and then select Edit.

  3. You see the Subscription section. Enter the device's MAC address in the Tie to SN / MAC / SIM ID field, and save it. Note that, the string you enter must contain only hexadecimal characters, no punctuation.

  4. If required, on the next page, Submit a subscription email to the relevant people.

Initiating provisioning on the Yealink device

After the device has been tied to its endpoint subscription, the steps below can be executed by someone with administrator access to the device.

  1. First, you need to set the video conferencing platform, so either:
    • go to the video endpoint's onscreen menu, or
    • go to the unit's web interface.
  2. Select Video conferencing platform.

You may see Pexip and Videxio as available options, in which case select Videxio for the Pexip Service (some hardware video endpoint providers have not updated the names).

Within a short time the Yealink video conferencing system is set up for use with the Pexip Service.

Please note that the secondary DNS servers must be configured for registration to work. For help troubleshooting, see Endpoint activation troubleshooting tips.
