Activating Avaya video endpoints

Before customers can start using their Avaya hardware video endpoint subscription for the Pexip Service, their device needs to be activated (sometimes referred to as provisioning). Here we explain how to do it.

Having already created an endpoint subscription, the partner needs to tie the device to its subscription in the Partner Portal. Someone with administrator access to the device can then complete the process.

Please note that Avaya video endpoints are not compatible with activation using the Activate Endpoint app.

Tying the Avaya device to the endpoint subscription

  1. In the Partner Portal find the endpoint subscription you want to use.
  2. Select the wrench icon next to the target endpoint subscription, and then select Edit.

  3. You see the Subscription section. Enter the device's serial number in the Tie to SN / MAC / SIM ID field, and save it.

  4. If required, on the next page, Submit a subscription email to the relevant people.

Initiating provisioning on the Avaya device

After the device has been tied to its endpoint subscription, the steps below can be executed by someone with administrator access to the device.

  1. First, follow the configuration steps using Quick Setup:

    • You can go to the GUI and select Configure > Quick Setup, or
    • after logging in to the web interface as admin, go to: Basic settings > Quick setup.
  2. When you see the Configure screen, select Pexip provisioning.

  3. Next, you are prompted to activate your Pexip subscription. Select the Activate button and provisioning begins automatically.

Within a short time your device is set up for use with the service.

  4. You must also set Automatic synchronization to Enabled so that your device maintains its connection to the Pexip Service.

Please refer to the Avaya documentation for help on how to enable Automatic Synchronization.
