Pexip app for mobile release notes

This topic describes the new features, fixed issues and known limitations in the current and previous supported releases of the Pexip apps for iOS and Android.

v1.1.7 Pexip app for iOS

New features

  • Support additional parameters in pexip:// deep links, including host, display name, PIN, role, extension, bandwidth, camera and microphone mute states, camera position, and auto-join settings.

Changes in functionality

  • Keep calendar meetings visible until the end of the local day.
  • Sort participants alphabetically.

Fixed issues

  • Differentiate application messages from chat messages.
  • Hide the Spotlight action for AC-based layouts.
  • Display participant names from overlay text.
  • Prevent crashes when guests are transferred to a breakout room.

Fixed issues

  • Updated network security settings to improve device compatibility to resolve connection issues when joining certain conferences.

Fixed issues

  • Updated GStreamer with an H264 parser fix.
  • TURN refresh hardening: Improved TURN refresh logic and added ChannelBind/CreatePermission timers to prevent calls to a service VMR from dropping after 10 minutes.
  • Fixed a memory buildup when pushing presentation frames, reducing overall app memory usage.

  • A new warning displays if you are about to join a meeting without camera and/or microphone permissions.
  • A speaker Voice Activity Detection (VAD) indicator is now displayed on the participant in the meeting who is speaking.
  • Self-view is now hidden when the camera is muted.
  • A chat indicator (red dot) is displayed when a new message arrives.
  • The conference name is displayed in the meeting header.
  • The participants list is separated into Waiting in Lobby, Raised Hand, and In This Meeting.
  • In the participants list, there is a new menu with the following participant controls:
    • Disconnect
    • Mute/Unmute microphone
    • Spotlight/Remove Spotlight

Changes in functionality

  • In Settings > Quality, user interface text relating to an Auto option that no longer exists has been removed.
  • General improvements to how the calls in Recent are ordered and displayed.

Fixed issues

  • Fixes an issue on iOS 17 that could cause the app to close unexpectedly as it was being launched.

Previous apps

Previous "Infinity Connect" apps for iOS and Android are no longer supported. They should be deleted and replaced with the latest version of the current apps.

The current Pexip app for iOS and Pexip app for Android were initially released as version 1.0.0 in April 2025.
