This topic describes the new features, fixed issues and known limitations in the current and previous supported releases of the Pexip apps for iOS and Android.

New features

  • A new warning displays if you are about to join a meeting without camera and/or microphone permissions.
  • A speaker Voice Activity Detection (VAD) indicator is now displayed on the participant in the meeting who is speaking.
  • Self-view is now hidden when the camera is muted.
  • A chat indicator (red dot) is displayed when a new message arrives.
  • The conference name is displayed in the meeting header.
  • The participants list is separated into Waiting in Lobby, Raised Hand, and In This Meeting.
  • In the participants list, there is a new menu with the following participant controls:
    • Disconnect
    • Mute/Unmute microphone
    • Spotlight/Remove Spotlight
    • Make Guest/Make Host
    • Lower hand
    • Lower all hands
    • Admit/Deny a participant (waiting in the lobby)
    • Admit all participants (waiting in the lobby)
  • In the participants list, there is a new menu with the following conference controls:
    • Mute/Unmute all Guests
    • Allow Guests to unmute

  • If you are spotlighted by another participant, you now see a spotlight notification.

  • Pinch-to-zoom capability video and presentation during meetings.
  • Changeable in-call quality settings.
  • Improved order of the options in Settings.

Changes in functionality

  • In Settings > Quality, user interface text relating to an Auto option that no longer exists has been removed.
  • General improvements to how the calls in Recent are ordered and displayed.

Fixed issues

  • Fixes an issue on iOS 17 that could cause the app to close unexpectedly as it was being launched.

Previous apps

Previous "Infinity Connect" apps for iOS and Android are no longer supported. They should be deleted and replaced with the latest version of the current apps.

The current Pexip app for iOS and Pexip app for Android were initially released as version 1.0.0 in April 2025.
